Marilyn Peterson of Peterson
Sled Dogs, Inc., of Park Rapids, Mn.,visited our school with 4 of her
speed racing dogs. We were particularly interested in her as two of
her dogs were Gary Paulsen's, the author. She had a wonderful
presentation and even gave a few of us rides around our school's

Here is Marilyn Peterson and TJ. Notice
her fur hat. She wears this at all her races. She does a lot of
racing in Bemidji and around the state of Minnesota. Marilyn and her
husband are from Park Rapids, Mn.
This is Bruce, a lead dog. He belonged to
Gary Paulsen at one time and was given to Marilyn. He has a great
personality and is very fast. Apparently too fast for Gary's team.
Gary Paulsen has since retired from the sport of
mushing.
